Rhode Island Correctional Industries (RICI) is a rehabilitative program founded in 1934 with the primary goal of providing offenders with vocational training and job skills. Over the years, RICI has grown into a thriving local business that offers a range of services and products. Currently, approximately 130 offenders are employed through RICI, gaining hands-on experience in various industries such as manufacturing, printing, and furniture production.
This training not only equips individuals with practical skills but also fosters personal development, accountability, and work ethic. By participating in RICI, offenders are better prepared to reintegrate into society, improving their chances of leading productive and fulfilling lives upon release. Additionally, the program contributes to the local economy and supports the mission of rehabilitation within the correctional system.
